On 1 January 2021, the Brexit has become a reality and we will have to deal with customs documentation for all cargo moving between UK-EU-UK. Our (in-house) Customs team has extensive experience in customs procedures and the information and software needed to provide full coverage to our customers.
Steder Group has offices in both the Netherlands and the UK that work closely together to ensure customs obligations run smoothly. As a result, our organisation is well aware of the locally applicable laws and regulations and we closely follow the latest developments regarding the Brexit.
From January 2022, the UK has introduced additional legislation to allow goods to be imported into the UK. This is the IPAFFS scheme. This means that customers must make an advance notification to UK customs. A shipment must be notified 8 hours before entering the UK. This IPAFFS notification is mandatory and our team can handle it for you.
Our team specialises in imports and exports to and from the UK. Since the Brexit, we have been a key player for a large number of customers who ship many fresh products such as vegetables, fruit, meat, animal products and alcohol from and/or to England, Scotland and Ireland.

What do you need?
Documentation for BREXIT
To import and export goods into and out of the UK, goods need to be cleared. To do this, Customs agents need a Power of Attorney. Every exporter/importer needs to process such a Power of Attorney. In addition, we naturally need the following basic information, such as:
- value
- weight
- volume
- insurance and delivery terms
- a product description and the HS (customs) code
